If you know me, you know that I'm a BIG chocolate cookie lover who could eat a giant chocolate cookie every day. However, buying a $5 cookie every day can become a costly habit when compounded over time. This has driven me to learn how to make chocolate cookies myself. My favorite cookie is the Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie, which has a crispy outside and a soft, chewy inside. Below, I'm sharing a recipe for a Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie that is just as good as the $5 cookies you buy in the store. If you follow each step, you too will have a delicious cookie to enjoy.
Below is the picture of my first attempt at making a Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie. Yes, it does taste as good as it looks!
Ingredients
- 200g Unsalted Butter (softened)
- 125g Brown Sugar
- 75g Sugar
- 2.5g Salt
- 2 Eggs
- 7g Vanilla Extract
- 320g All Purpose Flour
- 3g Baking Powder
- 2g Baking Soda
- 75g Walnuts and 75g Pecans (cut into small pieces)
- 100g Dark Chocolate (cut into small pieces)
- 50g Dark Chocolate Chips
Directions
Step 1:
Place 320g All Purpose Flour on a baking tray
Put the baking tray in a preheated oven at 180C/356F for 10 min on top/bottom heating mode
Take out the flour, and stir it lightly to prevent clumps
Mix the following ingredients with the flour until they are blended.
125g Brown Sugar, 75g Sugar, 2.5g Salt, 3g Baking Powder, 2g Baking Soda, 75g Walnuts and 75g Pecans (small pieces), 100g Dark Chocolate (small pieces), 50g Dark Chocolate Chips
Stir 200g unsalted butter, make sure the butter is soft, not melted
Step 4:Add 2 Eggs, one at a time, to the mixture
Step 5:Add 7g Vanilla Extract (about 2 bottle caps) and mix
Step 6:Chill dough in the fridge for 30 mins
Step 7:Scoop dough into a tall round ball
Step 8:Put the rounded ball on a baking tray and place it inside the preheated oven at 190C/374F for 15 mins on top/bottom heating mode
Step 9:Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 mins
